Care guide

Handwoven and hand-finished pieces age beautifully when treated gently. Use this guide alongside each product’s care note.

General rule

Less water, less heat, more rest. Natural fibers recover shape when hung or laid flat between wears.

Storage

Keep dry, away from direct sun. Use cedar or lavender sachets. Fold heavy weaves instead of thin hangers.

When unsure

Professional dry clean with a note about embroidery, felt, or metallic trims. Never bleach.

By material

Pulu & heavy wool weaves

  • Prefer professional dry clean; avoid machine wash
  • Steam lightly from a distance if needed; do not press hard on the nap
  • Brush dust with a soft clothes brush after travel
  • Store folded with space to breathe; see Pulu materials

Felt

  • Spot clean with a barely damp cloth; never soak
  • Reshape while slightly damp and dry flat, away from radiators
  • Brush gently in one direction to refresh the surface
  • More in Felt materials

Embroidery

  • Turn garment inside out for professional cleaning
  • Do not iron directly on raised stitches — press from reverse with a cloth
  • Avoid snagging jewelry against dense stitch fields
  • See Embroidery materials

Silver & metal hardware

  • Wipe after wear with a soft dry cloth
  • Store dry; light natural tarnish can be polished gently
  • Avoid perfume, chlorinated water, and harsh chemicals
  • Details in Silver materials

Woven bands, belts & straps

  • Spot clean only; strong dyes may transfer when wet
  • Roll for storage rather than sharp folds when possible
  • Keep out of prolonged direct sun
  • See Woven bands

Linen, cotton & light RTW

  • Cool gentle wash when labeled washable; reshape while damp
  • Low iron from reverse; accept natural crease as part of the cloth
  • Hang to dry when possible
