Runway
Three Rivers on the Beijing stage
Beijing Fashion Week’s tenth-anniversary frame asked brands to define Guochao without cliché. AJ-NAMO answered with water: three river sources as origin myth for cloth, metal, and stitch.
The show did not costume the models as “ethnic display.” It staged contemporary proportion first—then let heritage textiles speak in panels, trims, and weight.
What the audience saw
- Pieced pulu coats as cartography
- Felt volumes for soft armor
- Embroidery as punctuation, not wallpaper
The same vocabulary appears in ready-to-wear drops weeks later—so runway is not a sealed museum, but a prototype engine.
